Melbourne Writers Festival

Since 1986, Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF) has been a cornerstone of the city's literary culture. The festival's success – and that of the city’s writers, publishers and all those across the industry – has provided the opportunity for Melbourne’s community of readers and writers to grow and prosper. Each year, MWF invites novelists, playwrights, poets, screenwriters, journalists, songwriters, bloggers – anyone who's part of the world of words. We host politicians and artists, policy wonks and pop culture icons, crime writers and high culture theorists. The festival program features an enormous range of literary activity including entertaining discussions, debates, readings, film screenings, interviews, literary banquets, performances, workshops and book launches, as well as a lively schools' program for primary and secondary students. To all of these events, we welcome hundreds of guests from around the world and across the country, meaning we’re able to celebrate the work of the writers you love and surprise you with those you never knew existed. At the heart of every program remains the opportunity for writers and readers to connect in unexpected ways. Join us for the 27th Melbourne Writers Festival which runs from Thursday 23 August to Sunday 2 September 2012

Gympie Music Muster

The Gympie Music Muster is Australia's favourite outdoor country music and camping festival.

Held in the beautiful and normally peaceful Amamoor Creek State Forest Park, this iconic Aussie music festival brings music and mateship together under one big open roof, offering an experience like no other. The 35th Gympie Music Muster will be held over 4 days from 25th to Sunday 28th August 2016 in one of Queensland's most beautiful National State Parks, with over 50 hectares of well maintained, planned camping facilities, plenty of hot showers and toilets, and a central entertainment precinct.

Located just 40-kilometres south-west of Gympie, it's an easy drive 2-hours north of Brisbane, and only 45minutes from stunning Noosa and heritage listed Fraser Island.
