NCHA Futurity - Tamworth

The annual NCHA Tamarang Futurity is the richest three year old horse performance event in Australia with prize money of over AUD700,000 on offer. 

The Futurity features the best Cutting Horse action in Australia with competitors and spectators from all around Australia and overseas travelling to Tamworth NSW for the event which takes place in the world class Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre.

In addition to the packed Cutting program, some of the evening entertainment includes the popular NCHA Stockman's Challenge, Aussie Horseman Demonstration, Bull Riding, Rodeo, Professional Farriers and country music entertainment.

The event also incorporates the largest country/western rural trade display outside of the metropolitan area as well as the NCHA Select Sale which auctions some of the finest bred performance horses in Australia.

Melbourne Jazz Festival

The 2017 Melbourne International Jazz Festival opens with an extraordinary collaboration with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra - A Celebration of Ella and Louis featuring Patti Austin and James Morrison, and closes with the world’s most-awarded female jazz vocalist, the divine Dianne Reeves.

With a program catering for a range of audiences, the Melbourne International Jazz Festival is sure to fulfil your winter entertainment needs. For those trying jazz for the first time, there is the legendary Kenny Barron Trio. For families and children, there is Play School’s Big Jazz Adventure at the Melbourne Town Hall.

For those looking for some gospel and funk gold, try Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles at 170 Russell. And there’s also the amazing Donny McCaslin Group, who rose to worldwide prominence for their involvement in David Bowie’s final album, Blackstar.

Don’t forget the intimacy of the club gigs, held at The Jazzlab in Brunswick and The Toff in Town in the CBD. For those to the north of the city, there are two shows at the Darebin Arts Centre. There is also an impressive line-up of free events including the Second Line Street Party and Jazz Out West.
